John Ellis OBE
Employee Relations Consultant
John has have extensive experience in the field of industrial relations and public administration, for which he was awarded the OBE in 1995.
After 14 years employment in the Civil Service in 1968 John became a full-time officer with the Civil and Public Services Association in 1986. He accepted the post of Secretary General of the Council of Civil Service Unions in 1992 on a 3 year contract, from which position JohnI retired in May 1995 to become an Employment Relations Consultant. John has lectured on industrial relations at numerous trade union schools and for the TUC, the Civil Service College and other bodies such as the Institute of Personnel Development and has made many contributions to union journals.
The 1996/97 Winter Edition of the Journal, "Public Policy and Administration" contained a three thousand word article from John on the changes in the civil service trade union movement during the period 1979-1996.
